CREATIVE ~ ENGAGING ~ FUN!!!
I have been teaching in various capacities for 35+ years and love working with kids! I earned a BA in History from Carleton College and a MA in Film Production from Ohio University School of Film. My diverse background includes living in Kenya for one year; owning and operating a natural food store, café & bakery in Big Pine Key, Florida for 4 years; building a video production suite in Key West and using it to make local documentaries and tv commercials for two years; and home educating our 4 sons through grade 8. I speak French, Spanish & Swahili.
In Asheville, I have taught at Carolina Day School’s after school and summer camps, Claxton & Jones Elementary after school programs, Wednesday classes at the Burton Center and online classes for kids via Zoom. I led summer camps in stop motion animation, live action movie making and baking for the past 7 years, the last three of which have been my own programs. I currently teach classes via Zoom and tutor, and am a Teaching Artist for LEAF Schools and Streets. https://theleaf.org/teaching-artists/
