Travelogue through Pandemic Quarantine
May 26, 2020
-7:00 am Wake up early. Lay in bed. Read. Or choose books to read. Fall back asleep, or not
-8:30 am Wake up. Do stuff on my iPod which I keep in bed.
-9:00 am Depends if Mom comes and says, “time to get up.” If so, then I get up.
-9:30 am Finally get out of bed, get dressed, brush my teeth and hair, and go downstairs to eat breakfast.
-10:00 am Get ready to do jobs. Get socks that I forgot. Get ready to walk Ruby. Check on the chickens. Do schoolwork. Write a short story. Math on the computer.
(Lately we haven’t for the last two weeks.)
-I actually wantto do schoolwork more now, because there’s nothing else to do.
-I miss going to school and being in a classroom, because it’s easier for me to learn that way, but I am also doing fine being in online class.
-I’m living in a new place since quarantine.
-Wash hands.
-Wash hands again.
-Take car rides and listen to audio books. It helps to get the baby asleep.
-We spend more time outside swinging, sword fighting, arguing with my brother.
-I like to go roller skating on the parkway and play the ukulele.
-Listen to music: Queen, Nirvana, A Radio Called His Radio and other electronic hip hop and rap,
-We eat homemade grilled burgers more often.
-I bake a lot. That’s a thing I do. Last night I made chocolate cake ‘cuz I was bored.
-I read on my iPad, borrowed books from the online library.
-We’ve watched a few more new movies than before the quarantine: Doctor Doolittle, which was kinda cheesy and not great, and Onward, which was better than I thought it was gonna be cuz it looked really stupid!
-I’ve been watching Kim’s Convenience with my moms.
-We went on a walk with our grandparents a couple of weeks ago. There were lots of people with their dogs walking around the college.
-I went to the headquarters of the parkway to roller skate.
-I went to Ingles a while ago. Everyone was wearing masks. Pretty boring, to be honest. It had certain aisles going one way and others going the other way. They had also installed new plexiglass barriers.
-We go to Chick Fil-A more often, to get fries for Henry, and sometimes we get fries too.
-Sometimes we get Thai food, which is like our comfort food.
-We get food deliveries from Instacart, like from Aldi, and once it was from Sam’s Club.
-We were getting groceries delivered in the beginning of the quarantine, but now we are just going to the store more.
-We do jobs in the afternoon, like walking our dogs Max & Ruby, check the chickens and collect eggs. We also have rotational chores, like sweeping, but I forgot to do it.
-I have to take out the recycling and trash and bring the bins back in later.
-It’s been kinda wonky, but like, I call my friends sometimes.
-My friend lives pretty far away, so I haven’t been able to see her.
-I go to bed around 8:30 or 9
-Around 11-11:30
-Mine varies anywhere from 8 to 11:30
-I look forward to this being over, so we can see friends again.
-I look forward to whenever government realizes that this isn’t a thing that we can blow off as soon as possible, and that we have to wait to reopen things so the virus doesn’t get worse.
-I’m looking forward to roller-blading in the skating rink.
